Renewables
Nicholas O’Dwyer provide planning, engineering and environmental services for the delivery of renewable energy projects.
We have been responsible for delivery by design and build contract of one of the largest wind-farms on the island of Ireland with an investment value of approximately €140m at Mount Lucas.
With the resources available to us we provide a quality service to our clients and our cross disciplinary capabilities allow us to influence the value engineering process in a very short timeframe and with the required economies and accuracy.
Power Distribution
We provide design and contract management services to the design and construction of a new 110kV to 20kV client sub-stations and have been the lead Civil / Structural Engineers and Construction Manager for many industry critical HV substation projects in recent years, including for Conoco Phillips (Irish Refinery), Amgen Pharmacuetical, Dublin Airport and Microsoft (DB3 and DBO6).
Design work on these projects has included transformer bunds, pylon foundations, plinths, roadways, drainage and all ancillary civil engineering works and the co-ordination of design with Eirgrid.
Power Generation
We have provided full engineering services as civil/structural designers and project design co-ordinators on the design of peaking plants of Combined Cycle Gas Turbines with in-service capacity of up to 230MW. This project required the design of a complete distillate water production system from a polluted water source and our was designed by our Water Section.
