Recently 16 members of the Nicholas O'Dwyer Water Department went on a CPD trip to two newly built Water Treatment Plants where Nicholas O'Dwyer acted as Employers Representative. The first plant, River Barrow (Srowland) WTP is located outside Athy, Co. Kildare and abstracts up to 40 million litres of water per day from the River Barrow.
The second plant Leixlip Water Treatment Plant, Stage 5, takes water from the River Liffey and supplies up to 225 million litres of water into the Dublin Region. Both plants use the latest water treatment technologies and provide clean drinking water to hundreds of thousands of people.
Everyone found the trip very informative and it highlighted the importance our work has on the daily lives of so many people.
